Israeli carrier EI Al Airlines is launching a new budget carrier, called UP, that will initially serve five European destinations. Launching March 30, 2014, UP will serve Berlin, Budapest, Kiev, Prague and Larnaca. All destinations except Larnaca will be served with up to 11X-weekly flights. Larnaca will operate up to 6X-weekly service. "We are launching a new and dynamic aviation brand-UP, which brings a declaration of renewal and addresses the changing needs of the aviation world," EI AI president Elyezer Shkedy said in a statement. "I am convinced that this move will improve our competitive abilities, expand our customer reach and offer a better response to the various changing preferences, while offering flights at lower costs."
