Alaska Airlines placed an order for 10 Boeing 737-900ERs, in a deal valued at $990 million at current list prices. The order builds on Alaska's all-Boeing fleet. The carrier said the new aircraft will "allow network growth and enable further cost reductions by replacing Alaska's 737-400s, which are capable of carrying 25% more passengers while using the same amount of fuel," Alaska Airlines said.
