Flybe (BE) said the UK domestic market suffered an underlying sales decline of 8% in its third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011, following a 6% drop in its fiscal first-half. It called December "particularly disappointing." The UK domestic market represents about 70% of BE's UK activities. Europe's largest regional airline said it sacrificed planned yield increases to maintain passenger numbers and grow market share during the third quarter 2011. It also warned that the resulting revenue shortfall, against previous expectations, will be "significant" and will not be recovered during the remainder of the fiscal year.
