With its favourable location in Centra! Europe, Berlin Brandenburg Airport offers strategic advantages in terms of the flight duration to Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Asia, flights taking considerably less time than from established hubs in the west of the continent. BER is Europe's new hub airport with a wide range of feeder opportunities for long-haul connections. The opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport on 3 June 2012 marks the start of the most successful summer in Berlin's aviation history. Airlines are significantly extending their routes and increasing their flight frequencies.
