摘要

The opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport on 3 June 2012 marks the start of the most successful summer in Berlin's aviation history. Airlines are significantly extending their routes and increasing their flight frequencies. With airberlin joining the oneworld alliance, the new airport will become the alliance's third largest hub in Europe. For this reason, airberlin's route network at Berlin Brandenburg Airport will be extended continuously so as to strengthen the hub, with Abu Dhabi, Los Angeles and Windhoek as new long-haul destinations. Also flights and destinations to Eastern Europe and Scandinavia are boosted. Lufthansa has announced its most extensive expansion programme to date with 32 new destinations from BER and is increasing its Berlin fleet from nine to 15 aircrafts.
