The EU's decision to include airlines in its Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) "was totally wrong," US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a feisty address last month to the 37th annual FAA Aviation Forecast Conference in Washington. "The law is bad and it doesn't help our relationships with the EU," LaHood told conference attendees. "What I say is, sit at a table, talk to one another, reach a compromise."
