Singapore Airlines regional affiliate SilkAir, which has an all-Airbus fleet, has moved in a different direction with a letter-of-intent (LOI) to purchase 23 Boeing 737-800s and 31 737 MAX aircraft valued at $4.9 billion at list prices. The LOI also includes 14 options and gives SilkAir the abil ity to switch among variants within the 737 product line, the regional carrier said.
