INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT (IFE) STARTED out as a risky business. The first movie shown to airline pas sengers, the silent "The Lost World" in April 1925, was on nitrate film stock and highly flammable. Certainly a questionable decision considering the Imperial Airways Paris London flight was operating a wood and fabric-hulled con verted WW1 bomber, the Handley-Page O 400.
