On December 31, 2020, Steve Alverson retired after a40-year career in the aviation industry, 39 of which werespent working on aircraft noise and land use compatibility issues.The bulk of Mr. Alverson’s career was spent in consulting,but he also spent five years serving as the City andCounty of Denver’s first Airport Noise Officer. His work hasincluded facilitating airport/community roundtables andmanaging some of the most challenging aircraft noise studiesin the United States. After his extensive experience in the airportnoise arena, Airport Noise Report asked Mr. Alverson toreflect on some of the aircraft noise milestones during hislong career and to share his thoughts on the emerging aircraftnoise trends.
