Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), cochairof the Quiet Skies Caucus, called the Department of Defense’sresponse to her Feb. 26 letter requesting limits onhelicopter flights over the District of Columbia due to noise“a good step forward.”In a June 16 statement, Norton said DoD expressed enthusiasmfor continued collaboration with her on helicopternoise issues and assured her that “all DoD aircrews are expectedto ‘fly neighborly’ with regard for the safety and comfortof persons on the ground at all times.”
