On July 13, the House Appropriations Committee approved a FY 2022 Department of Defense appropriations bill that includes $75 million through Sept. 30, 2025, for the Noise Mitigation Communities Partnership Program, which was established in FY 2021 to provide grants to civilian communities to fund insulation of homes and other structures affected by military jet noise. The legislation, not yet approved by the full House, also requires DOD to assess whether this grant program should be expanded to include homes and other structures impacted by military helicopter and tiltrotor noise.
