Forthe first half of 2020, it says,worldwide airport passengernumbers fell by 58.4% compared with thesame period in 2019, with internationalpassenger traffic hit the hardest,recording a 64.5% drop.With governments restrictingindividuals’ movements and corporategatherings at a standstill, airports havetheir work cut out for them. Not only mustthey ensure that their facilities complywith regulations, but they must makesure that travellers have the confidencerequired to return to air travel and tomake full use of airport retail facilities,giving non-aeronautical revenue theboost it desperately needs.
