Check-in at Frankfurt's Terminal 2 was friendly, with three dedicated counters for Etihad's 'Pearl' class, where we were processed without having to wait. Beyond passport control, a re-arrangement of shops and security checkpoints has considerably improved the appeal of the international departure level, although for a gateway amenities are poor beyond the security check.
