What could possibly cause an otherwise mild-mannered TSA (Transportation Security Administration) screener working the one daily flight from Ely, Nevada, to suddenly drop the 'F-bomb'? Was it frustration at living in a place of a mere 2,000 souls? Was it yet another clueless passenger carrying a box-cutter? Was it the realization that screeners are even less beloved than Department of Motor Vehicle clerks? None of the above. The word in question-starting with 'f and ending in 'k'-was "Fork!" shouted out when he spotted the supposedly banned cutlery (legal, according to the TSA's website) in a carry-on. Another possible explanation is that Ely Airport's official name is Yelland Field-a name he perhaps took too literally.
