The official name for Singapore-Changi Airport's budget terminal, which opened for business in March 2006, is-wait for it- 'Budget Terminal', it was chosen from amongst 12,000 entries in a naming contest, and reflects the local airport authority's pragmatic approach to low-cost air travel, in stark contrast to the glitz and glamor at Changi's mainstream terminals, notably the ultra-modern T3 which began operations on January 9 this year.
