Global Peace One purports to be the only privately owned Boeing 747SP in the world. However, despite its configuration, many people dispute assertions that it is somehow a mm avis in the aviation world. I became involved with Global Peace Initiative (GPI), a public charity based in Houston, Texas, soon after the devastating tsunami that brought death and destruction to much of Southeast Asia on December 26, 2004 (Mailbag, March 2005). When thousands of people found themselves with no homes, food, supplies, or medical services, GPI and Global Peace One came to the rescue. They brought medical supplies to the devastated areas, not once but twice.
