The relatively new international terminal at Chicago O'Hare (Airways, Jan/Feb 1997) is very good, enabling passengers to avoid the crowds of ORD's domestic operations. First impressions of Japan Airlines were excellent. Counter personnel were extremely courteous, and although there was a line they took their time and made me feel welcome. I was not able to make advance seat assignments because of the fare I had selected, but the agent suggested an aisle seat in the center block as there would not be a passenger next to me or in front.
