I don't think I've ever met anyone who disliked air traffic controllers as much as the captain who is the subject of this story. Of course, I didn't know this little fact about him until after we had introduced ourselves on the first day of our trip.We were talking about each other's background, which is not unusual. Getting to know the person you'll be spending the next week or two with is a good idea because it gives each pilot some idea of what to expect from the other, especially when you consider the possibility of a major problem developing on the very first takeoff.
