In mid 2000 first discussions took place to plan an increase in melting and casting capacity of the existing Pechiney Rhenalu cast house at Neuf-Brisach. A lot of work went into detailed planning so as to clarify the production requirement before finalising an order. Extra melting capacity had to be installed in a restricted space.
