Tapping vehicles to carry from 8 to 13 tonnes of liquid aluminium are now under development at HMR Hydeq in Ardal, Norway. The program is called "Vision 11", referring to the vision of constructing a vehicle with a crucible capacity of 11 tonnes. The main innovation in the new system is to lay the crucible's length axis horizontally, instead of standing it vertically as it is today. This arrangement maximises the volume in the crucible.
