For about two decades the aluminium processing industries have amplified their range of standard semifabricated products by bringing in system components and subsystems. Nowadays, this route has become a question of economic survival. By definition, the value of a system is considerably greater than that of the sum of its individual components. This explains the behaviour trend shown by the semis industry in its strivings to achieve higher output value and net yields. At various levels and over the requisite intervals of time, these developments are still ongoing.
