Ormet Corp. has notified state government officials that it may curtail all six potlines at its 270,000 tpy aluminium smelter in Hannibal, Ohio. If the company follows through with the curtailment, the first job reductions would take place in mid-September. The main reason for the potline shutdown is the low aluminium price on the LME.
