Norwegian aluminium producer Norsk Hydro is seeking to make more acquisitions by the end of the year and will continue to invest heavily in organic growth. The company expects aluminium prices to remain strong despite a slackening in demand.rnHydro hedges very little of its production and does not plan to increase its hedge book in the near future. Hedging production is not desirable given rising input and energy costs. The company prefers direct exposure to the market and uses a model in which around 83% of its production is forward priced for the third quarter of 2008 at USD2,856 per tonne.
