摘要

The use of natural gas/diesel dual fuel engines continues to growrndue to the lower cost of natural gas in comparison to diesel fuel andrnbecause lean premixed combustion of natural gas is capable ofrnyielding lower NO_X and soot emissions than conventional dieselrncombustion. Furthermore, natural gas can produce the same amountrnof energy with approximately 25% less carbon dioxide emitted inrncomparison to using diesel fuel. Therefore, retrofitting diesel enginesrnwith natural gas port injection offers a path towards meetingrnemissions regulations at lower fuel cost.
