1.Beyond Meat is entering the increasingly competitive market of alternative protein in Brazil. Where it was once a disruptor, Beyond Meat will be now be chasing market share in Brazil, with a number of domestic and international meat and food processing companies having already launched their own alternative protein products. 2.Beyond Meat will enter the Brazilian market via the off-trade route (MGR) and will utilise its USP, as a premium offering, with its products available, at least initially, at grocery retailer St Marche in Sao Paulo. 3.This is an interesting strategy, considering that disposable incomes are set to contract in 2020, due to the economic consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
