摘要

This paper presents a novel approach for developing a network management system in a real-time environment. This research investigates the performance evaluation of network monitoring servers in a local-area network (LAN) environment. Proposed is an enhanced equation to evaluate the performance of network traffic management via the queuing theory. To get accuracy results on the performance of network management prototype, traffic in and out is measured and captured from a real network environment. A network management tool is used to capture the traffic accessing the servers. As a result, this prototype of a realtime network management system can provide a good approximation of the real traffic observed in a real network environment. Real experiments show that the network management system via prototype is capable of approximating the performance of the servers within a minimum error rate.
