Can Japan Compete? Provides important, albeit controversial, empirical and theoretical findings just in time for the international search for an antitrust policy for the 100 countries with antitrust laws around the world. If the shared objective is to maximize, not undermine, standard of living, then the productivity paradigm pro- vides antitrust with a rigorous, empirical, practical and widely used method of analyzing competition and productivity to harmo- nize antitrust worldwide.
