HOW WELL DO PILOTS UNDERSTANDweather? That’s a big question, and onewith many facets. For example, it can beinterpreted as how well we understand thedynamics behind the creation and behaviorof weather. Many of us don^ fare so well inthis department. A lot of pilots want to begiven simple explanations of complex situations, a sort of “1-800-Can-I-Make-It”source of one-stop briefings. That’s notgoing to happen. Instead, more of the informational burden is shifting to the pilot.
