The South Australian Government has extended the approvals for the Penola Pulp Mill. The Penola Pulp Mill Authorisation Act, 2007, which had a life of three years, has been extended to allow the developer of the project to continue planning and sourcing finance.rnThe 750,000 tpy BCTMP mill has been in the planning stages for a number of years, and has been affected by the failure of Managed Investment Scheme Timbercorp, which was to have supplied pulp-wood for the mill, and the economic downturn, which has affected borrowing ability.
