This editorial was prompted by an email from one of Appita Journal's most esteemed reviewers, Dr Frank Phillips. Frank has been on the Panel of Reviewers for well over 25 years, and has reviewed many papers in his time. He has decided to step down, and all of us involved in the publication of the Journal sincerely thank Frank for his contribution to the Journal's success.rnAppita Journal receives approximately 120 paper submissions per year for peer review publication, of which about 40 are eventually accepted for publication. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers, so the workload on reviewers is not insignificant.rnThe peer reviewed section of the Journal is globally recognised as having an important role in the promulgation of significant scientific and engineering results in the area of pulp, paper, packaging and printing processes.
