When you hear a story about someone's most frighten-ing moment in an aircraft, it usually begins with a tale of the darkest night you ever saw, or some harrowing situation the crew was placed in due to operational demands. It's almost always something dramatic and daring. In my case, it came during one of the most common evolutions you could imagine. In fact, during our crew brief, we considered this the least dangerous part of the flight.
