Chinese consumer spending on food and non-alcoholic drinks continues to increase, with consumers set to allocate greater levels of their household budgets to this category over the medium term (2018-2022). In terms of food purchasing preferences, meat, vegetables, fruit and dairy will retain their positions as the top four favourites for Chinese consumers out to 2022, with consumers also exhibiting a growing preference to spend greater levels of their disposable income on seafood and confectionery.
