ABABJ: Some economists say that the Fed will begin raising rates again before yearend. Do you agree? Jim Chessen: The futures market is betting that the Fed will start to raise rates by the fall. That assumes a stronger economy than the 3% GDP most economists are forecasting for 2010. The two key things the Fed has to worry about-high unemployment and rapid inflation-suggest to me that the Fed will not be anxious to unwind the large stimulus currently in place.
