Community bank CEOs have had a love-hate relationship with technology for the last decade or so. As tech increasingly became "scalable" to size, price, and needs, it became the great equalizer. It enabled community banks to match larger competitors service for service.rnBut technology, even if sized and priced for the market, still isn't cheap. And when banks attempt to rein in tech spending, it can be difficult. Just holdingrnstill costs money, in the form of maintenance expense.
