The recently established Australian Fashion Council (AFC) had to ask companies to send only one representative to its first event after an overwhelming response from the industry. Around 90 people had wanted to attend the event, with individual businesses keen to bring extra people to the information evening 'Grow your fashion business in 2006/07'. "We had to limit the numbers to one person per company," said AFC general manager Zoe Edquist. And AFC stopped accepting RSVPs more than one week before the event was held, as it was already filled to capacity.
