摘要

Beaver Toyota/Scion, Santa Fe, N.Mex., invested in a $10,000 tire wear-detection system so customers can clearly see the wear on their tires. The system, which is mounted on the service drive floor, determines each car's alignment and prints out the results. Yellow and red show a car is out of alignment; green shows it is aligned. "Customers love to see the printout," says service manager Paul Sandaval. Most customers opt for the $54.95 alignment. The store sells an average of 15 alignments a day, generating $21,430 per month (based on a 26-day month). That means revenue paid for the system within a month. Other customer purchases Sandoval credits to the system-including tires, front-end work, and tire rotations-are gross profit.
