AV comes in many forms across museums and heritage attractions, but its pri-mary function is always to better engage, educate and entertain visitors, says Tony Crossley, special projects director at Pure Audio Visual. "This means it needs to be both interpretative and experiential. Interpretative AV, where digital content is produced to better interpret a story or describe an exhibit, is especially helpful where static text and imagery simply won't do the job or are already too abundant. When a more sensory, immersive or personal experience is required, experiential AV offers the potential to capture the visitor's attention and provide a more unique and immersive engagement with the exhibition, artefact or attraction."
