摘要

The birth of the Inspection Authorization (LA), as we know it today, took place in 1939. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the U.K. was having trouble keeping up with the repairs and maintenance from the increased activity in the civilian pilot training programs. Certifications were taking up to a year on major repairs on general aviation aircraft. This was unacceptable, so the CAA started designating aviation maintenance inspectors, DAMI for short. These designations were hard to come by, and were not taken lightly by the CAA or the inspectors.
