Air France de Havilland Comet 1A F-BGNX was moved into a new display position at London Colney's de Havilland Aircraft Museum on January 6 to enable construction work to begin on a new hangar. The £1.5m project is being started at the Hertfordshire site with the help of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The jet, one of three built for Air France, was moved using a hydraulic crane. Brian Kern, who is leading the project, said: "This Comet is the only one of the first batch to survive entirely unaltered with its square windows, so it was a very anxious moment when it was raised and moved.
