Despite industry skepticism about the past year's Transportation Security Administration Registered Traveler pilot programs, the private-sector operator of the newest version, at Orlando, Fla., believes it will prove the concept quickly. Even though participants at Orlando International Airport (MCO) are paying $79.95 per year for what was free in the previous, more limited trials, well over three times the number have signed up. Each of the five original projects was limited to 2,000 people from a single airline's elite-passenger rolls. MCO is open to everyone, and Verified Identity Pass Inc. (VIP), the for-profit company that operates the program there, had enrolled about 3,000 participants on July 19, when it began operations. After the first month, enrollment had more than doubled to about 6,900.

While quite a number of English-Japanese dictionaries of business and legal terms have been publishedin Japan, there seem to be very few Japanese-English dictionaries on the market which give clear explanations of thesubtle differences in meaning between the various English equivalents of terms in such specialized fields.
