In August 2008, the GP7200 made its first revenue commercial flight on an Emirates Airbus A380 super jumbo jet. That was less than one year after the engine and airframe combination received US FAA and European EASA certification, and two years following its initial A380 test flight. Five years, two-million flight hours, and 260,000 cycles later, the GP7200 has achieved an average dispatch reliability rate of 99.9 % on a cumulative 53 A380s operated by Air France, Emirates, and Korean Airlines.
