摘要

Airbus faces at least a few more months of turbulence on A380 deliveries as it works to resolve supplier problems impeding a higher output. Supply bottlenecks linked to seat manufacturer Koito and Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines are forcing Airbus to moderate its production ramp-up for the year. The aircraft maker now expects to hand over 22-25 units in 2011, and these are likely backloaded. A production rate of three aircraft per month will not be reached until 2012, says CEO Tom Enders. An exact number and profile will probably not be concrete until mid-year. Airbus is holding off on releasing its order projection for the year, although two pending deals-with Japan's Sky-mark Airlines and South Korea's Asiana Airlines-remain to be booked. Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al-Bakr said last week that, "We have five A380s on order and imminently we will order another large number of the same." He did not disclose how many more.
