Dassault Aviation is rushing to raise output and increase outsourcing to meet a rising tide of Falcon Jet orders without risking overcapacity if the market turns soft. The French manufacturer took orders for 212 business aircraft last year, dwarfing the previous high of 158 recorded in 2006. The purchases prompted a leap in new business to €6.26 billion ($9.26 billion), the fifth order increase in a row. The bulk of buys—73 units, according to figures reported last year—were for the new Falcon 7X top-of-the-range trijet, which entered service last June, according to Chairman/CEO Charles Edelstenne who reported results here last week.
