Innovative Solutions & Support Inc. is building on its successful participation in the market for Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums with a variety of flat-panel glass cockpit systems for civil, military and business jets. "We established ourselves in the RVSM world and did about half of the installations [for transition to this new regime] in the U.S.," says Roman G. Ptakowski, IS&S president. He notes that the company has equipped thousands of aircraft for RVSM, including two dozen different models of aircraft. This business has dropped precipitously even though 25% of the aircraft eligible for upgrade to fly in RVSM airspace have not been outfitted, because certain expected mandates have not been passed.
