Seattle-based software-maker Ten-zing Communications Inc. plans a near-term rollout of a higher speed version of its onboard e-mail service for commercial airliners. The introduction follows a successful test of the 64-Kbps. Inmarsat-based system on an Airbus A318 in Toulouse last month. Tenzing CEO Alan McGinnis said on Feb. 24 he expected air travelers will "be seeing it quite visibly on a lot of airplanes within the next three months." Sales beyond the initial installations on Cathay Pacific Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways were pending, he said, with an- nouncements likely within six weeks.
