Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control-Orlando group is successfully melding disparate corporate cultures, expertise and weapons systems into a cohesive unit that is winning one contract after another. In so doing, it is defying what had become conventional wisdom in the aerospace/defense industry: Consolidation doesn't work. The Missiles and Fire Control-Orlando (MFCO) unit under Michael T. Donovan, vice president of fire control and sensors, has undergone a significant transformation in the last year to achieve this. Donovan oversees a long list of electro-optical and infrared-based products that detect, identify, track and designate targets for precision strike.
