Aircraft engineering, fabrication, assembly and modification of both commercial and military aircraft are performed at Boeing Wichita, which employs 17,900 people. The company produces about 75% of the 737, as well as the nacelles and Section 41 of the fuselages for 747, 757, 767 and 777 jetliners. The facility also is responsible for maintenance of Air Force One, as well as modification and structural updates on the 767 AWACS, KC-135 tanker and B-52 bomber.
