Business aircraft manufacturers, in the midst of one of their best years ever, used last week's Paris air show to announce new aircraft sales, detail new startup programs and explain performance and technology gains for existing aircraft. Large orders, in both units and total price, to fractional ownership programs dominated the announced sales, but these types of orders still make up less than 20% of unit sales by most aircraft manufacturers. Executive Jet continued its aggressive expansion plan by ordering 50, and optioning 50 more, new Hawker Horizons from Raytheon Aircraft. The total value of the sale is $2 billion, including the options and support work.
