The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), using a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency, has developed an easy-to-use web-based tool, the Green Chemical Alternatives Wizard . The Wizard allows users to search for less hazardous alternatives to both chemicals and processes commonly used in labs. Some of the alternate suggestions even have links to published references for more detailed information. Users can print the results or choose to have a link emailed.
