The RTPI's ODPM-funded Community Planning Project has come on in leaps and bounds. This is due, in no small part, to the enthusiasm and support of my Planning Aid colleagues and planners and community development workers. The aim of the project is to improve the practice of community planning in England - a tall order that will only be achieved through the successful delivery of a range of initiatives. The first tangible outcome of the project has been the development of www.communityplanning.net and the Community Planning Forum e-net-work. In addition to general information Communityplanning.net contains more than 40 involvement techniques and we have just secured funding to develop a case study section to look at how theory has been put into practice.
